Hicks & Company assisted Blackland Environmental with preparation and execution of wildlife sampling required to prepare a Railroad Commission of Texas permit expansion for the Marshall Mine. Specific techniques included density sampling for birds (General Transect, Variable Strip Transect, and Variable Circular Plot); drift fence and pitfall array sampling for reptiles and amphibians; hoop net turtle trapping; and small mammal trapping (Sherman traps). Primary activities were in Summer/Fall 2015 with field support and report writing in Spring/Summer 2016.
