Hicks & Company compiled the Threatened and Endangered Species and Indirect and Cumulative Impacts tasks for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for this approximately 7.5-mile proposed highway improvement project. In addition to drafting relevant sections of the EIS, Hicks & Company tasks included presence/absence surveys for the Golden-cheeked Warbler and coordination of habitat assessment and survey for several endangered karst invertebrate species, as well as preparation of a Biological Assessment and completion of a formal Section 7 consultation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in order to address Endangered Species Act concerns. Extensive indirect and cumulative impacts research and baseline document preparation tasks were conducted, including regional perspectives for human and natural resources in Bexar, Comal, Blanco, and Kendall counties.
