Hicks & Company completed an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the FM 457 Swing Bridge Replacement project at the Gulf Intercoastal Waterway in Matagorda County. The EA was comprised of the following Technical Reports: a Socioeconomic Impacts Report, including an assessment of potential disproportionate impacts to Environmental Justice and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) populations; an air quality study; a cultural resources evaluation, including an archeological resources background study and reconnaissance survey of historic resources; a traffic noise impacts report; a biological resources report; a water resources report; an indirect and cumulative impacts analysis; and a hazardous materials inital site assessment. Hicks & Company also assisted in public involvement efforts, collaborating with TxDOT to address public concerns. A FONSI was issued for the project in March 2016.
