Hicks & Company provided environmental services for road improvements to a section of Owassa Road from South Jackson Road to US 281, a total distance of 1.2 miles. Proposed improvements included modifying an existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane major urban collector consisting of two 11-foot through lanes in each direction, a 14-foot shared use outside lane, a 12-foot continuous left-turn lane in the center; and 5-foot sidewalks on each side of the road. Environmental services included completion of a “Project Scope and Environmental Issues” checklist; documentation of the early acquisition of four tracts of land obtained prior to environmental approval of the project; and preparation of an Environmental Assessment. A FONSI was issued for the project in December 2015.
