Crestview Redline Station

Project Name: Crestview Redline Station

Project Location: Airport Blvd and north Lamar, Austin, Texas

Project Type: Highway construction, Categorical Exclusion, and Environmental Assessment

Owner: Capitol Metropolitan Transportation Authority/Bridgefarmer & Associates

The Crestview Redline Station project involved the construction of a North Lamar Blvd overpass over the Capitol Metro commuter rail line near the intersection of North Lamar and Airport Blvd. Hicks & Company Professional Geoscientists completed a karst survey as well as roadway worker protection training. Due to a recent change in karst zones, the project was determined to be located entirely within the revised Karst Zone 3b. These areas have a low probability of containing endangered karst species because they are poorly suited for troglobite species. Hicks & Company’s other responsibilities for the project included environmental studies for land use, hazardous materials, historic and cultural resources, environmental justice, and biological resources.
