Hicks & Company was founded in 1988 by Sandra Hicks as a small, woman-owned offering specialized services in archeology, ecology, and project management under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other federal and state environmental statutes. From the beginning, our firm has focused on delivering high quality impact assessment and compliance support for large, complex, and often controversial public infrastructural and environmental management projects, including some of the most notable and successful public improvements in the Central Texas area. Our achievements in these regional “cornerstone” projects were not only important to the growth and reputation of our company but have also proven to be of substantial long-term benefit to communities in the region. In the face of booming growth statewide, Hicks & Company has played an important role in advancing mobility in the Texas transportation network through our successful preparation of Environmental Impact Statements for key highway, rail and airport improvement projects.
